Hello!

I’m Grete, a language tutor and founder of EstonianwithGrete. As a fluent speaker of three languages, my passion for languages began eight years ago when I volunteered at an Estonian language café in Tallinn. Since then, I’ve been active in language exchanges, always eager to share my beautiful mother tongue, Estonian.

Though not a formally trained teacher, I have over three years of experience and have taught more than 2,000 lessons, with many students staying with me for years. I’ve developed a beginner-friendly method that gives learners the confidence to speak from day one, which I believe is key to success.

I’ve also hosted interactive language cafés for intermediate learners and run a social media account where I share everyday Estonian through fun and simple content. My aim is to build confidence in my students and make Estonian accessible, even if it seems intimidating at first.

When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me chatting in Italian, enjoying nature through hiking and climbing, or occasionally playing badminton. And when it’s time to unwind, I love to read or listen to a cozy podcast.
